Continuing the tradition of past symposia, participation in the XVth Julius Schachter International Symposium on Human Chlamydial Infections will be dependent upon abstract acceptance by the Scientific Review Committee. A submission should be in the form of 4-page extended abstract that will undergo peer-review. Accepted abstracts will be presented either as an oral or poster presentation.

The abstract submission portal will open on November 9, 2021. The deadline for submission is January 17, 2022

Instructions for Extended Abstracts

Each abstract should be in English and approximately 4 pages. It must contain original material neither published nor presented elsewhere.

General Requirements

Page Size            8 ½ x 11 in. (US letter )

Margins              3/4 in. top and 1 in. bottom

                           3/4 in. left and right

Font                    Arial, single spaced text

Font Size            12 pt


Abstract Format

  • Type Authors with First Name (or initials) Last Name (eg., A. Smith1, B. Brown1, and C. Green2). Underline presenting author’s name.
  • Provide institution information (eg., 1Department of Laboratory Medicine, and 2Proctor Foundation, University of California, San Francisco, CA, USA)
  • *Leave one blank line before starting the body of the text.
  • Organize the abstract as follows: Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, and References.

To facilitate printing your abstract, preformatted pages with the required margins/page size are available for download from this form. (Note: text box borders will not appear on abstract forms.)

Abstracts should be submitted online. Authors will need to register in order to start their Abstract submission process.  After you have registered, upload your Abstract in two formats: 1) Microsoft Word .docx file and 2) PDF file (created with the word print function “Microsoft print to pdf”).

Abstract Notification

The Scientific Review Committee will determine the final decision on each abstract. Notification to authors will be sent on February 14, 2022. Accepted abstracts will be presented either as a poster or oral presentation. The presenting author must attend the congress and present it in person. Full instructions concerning the preparation and presentation format will be posted on the meeting website and included in the acceptance email.

Accepted abstracts will be published in the Symposium Book. Abstracts will not be edited. Thus, errors in spelling, grammar and scientific fact will be reproduced exactly as submitted.
